Grant & Jody Newdick (grwaqnt_newdick@hotmail.com) "Hello, I want to thank you for your hospitality on our trip to Bangkok in January. We really loved your staff and the rooms that we stayed in at both New Siam II and the Riverside. We tell everyone about your guest rooms and recommend them to everyone we know that goes to Thailand. Hopefully we get to come back and visit you again in 2009. Krub kuhn kup! Grant & Jody Grant Newdick "
Garry Ray (gnray@yahoo.com) "I\'ve been to Bangkok many times and have stayed in everything from the lowliest of Koh San Rd. flophouses, to the more upscale highrise business hotels on Sukhumvit. In 2003 my wife and I stayed for about a week at New Siam II, after a previous several days in one of the Sukhumvit business hotels. It was a delight. New Siam II is great first of all because of its Banglamphu location and its quick and easy access to shopping, street food, sightseeing, restaurants, and the river (including the river taxi). It\'s only a 5 minute walk to Koh San Rd. (if you like Koh San) yet is totally buffered from all of the the noise and bustle by a large Buddhist temple complex which you must traverse to get back and forth. The result is that New Siam II is quiet and comfortable and completely insulated from the hectic traffic and crowds of much of Bangkok. We very much appreciated the polite and helpful staff, and the hotel has a convenient Internet cafe, a small pool, and a dining room, which is great for a simple breakfast or afternoon snack. Our room had a safe, A/C, TV, and bathroom, and was tidy and comfortable. No complaints. New Siam II has a great deal going for it, and I\'m very happy I found it. It\'s where we\'ll stay whenever we\'re in Banglamphu. Garry Ray "
Bernhard Weiskircher (weiskircher@web.de) "New Siam is a realy nice possibility to stay, and the opportunity to book in advance, so easy. The right way for backpackers to explore the magic around Khao San Road. Friends from around the planet stay here, i found a lot of friends and you'll find more here in one of the best Houses there. Yours Bernhard Bernhard Weiskircher "
Birgit (Birgit.Hartmetz@gmx.net) "It was a very nice stay, and many friendly people. "
Frederic Journoud (France) (fredericjournoud@yahoo.com) "Great Hostel! I stayed at New Siam I and New Siam II, most recently in September 2007, and I have to say that they really found the magic formula to cater to backpackers who are willing to pay a little extra for great service and accomodations. The good thing is that they have all the services one needs when traveling: laundry, internet, long-term luggage storage (even when you are away), convenience store, bar, restaurant, in-room safe, travel agency, etc. The location is great (by the river for up and down taxi boats, and easy acces to the city center) even is the neighborhood is a bit too \"touristy\" (ie, full of backpackers), but at least you can get out of it easily. The staff is very polite and efficient (and they run all 4 hostels with paper cards and pecils!). If only their ceiling fans and air cons had lower power options this would be more comfortable, especially if your sinuses are sensitives... I will try the New Siam Riverside next time I go to Bangkok. Frederic Journoud (France)"
Louis Jansen (louis@brotherlouis.nl) "I stayed in New Siam II in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Allthought it is not the cheapest guesthouse in the neighbourhood, it\'s great value for money. Good atmosphere, veeery friendly staf and the restaurant serves the best meal you can get if you have to get on a bus/train all the way north/south during night. In that case, order yourself a \"Submarine Sandwhich\" (with all toppings!). You wont be hungry for at least half a day. Thierry (pucdog@gmail.com) "very clean, nice staff! Number ONE!"
Rob Edwards (re645528@bigpond.net.au) "What a great place to stay!! especially with family. Great rooms good food ,the pool is a bonus. We recommend to anyone. We will be staying next year and I will be back in december. Staff are fun and overall the place has a great feel about it, i'm sure any travellers know what i mean. "
Manon (mypje@home.nl) "Stayed in New Siam II a very good guesthouse... Very friendly staff, nice clean rooms, a pool and a good restaurant... Near the Khao San Road not even a 5 minute walk... Will be staying again at New Siam the next time I visit Bangkok."
Lucy (-) "i stayed in the new siam with a large group (22 people). they were very accomadating. serve nice food. there is also a nice (and cheap) restaurant accross the road. the staff are friendly and speak good english for those whose thai is not up to standard! the rooms are simple and the bathrooms are shared but they werent busy at all so it may as well have been our own bathroom. i would recommend the new siam to people who are travelling on a budget! "
Jim T. (jamesthaller@hotmail.com) "We stayed at the New Siam II Guesthouse, and it was such a great place to stay and an amazing value! Traveling with kids is always tricky, but this hotel was wonderful. The pool is a tremendous bonus, the rooms are clean and everyone was very accomadating! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing break from the hectic pace of Bangkok. I plan on staying there every time I visit the area, which unfortunately, isn\'t that often. Thanks everyone! "
Rami Giron (giron_rami@hotmail.com) "From JAN to MAY 2006, I was for a few months in Bangkok. I decided to check out for the first time the Khao San Road sceen. After checking about 30-40 different guest houses in the area, there is no doubt im my mind that the best one for me was New Siam 2 - The true home away from home !!! Its the best value for money : great sized rooms with good ammneties, including a digital safe, great color TV, 24 hours reception, electronic key card and a very safe & secure feeling in a nice and quite part of the neighberhood - just between the noisy Khao San Road and minutes away from the river and the pier !!! A nice small pool, a very good restaurant with a good western & thai menu, a very well operated and reliable Taxi service (24\\7), and above all : a great atmosphere from all the staff - specialy in the restaurant - and at the reception under the profesional guidence of Ms. Gem - all this together - you get the ultimate safe and warm Home away from Home !!! I cant wait for the next time ! ! ! Rami Giron"
Carsten Hamer (carstenhamer@web.de) ""November/December 2003 New Siam II, again our "home" in BKK, just one step away from the noisy Khaosan Road. Allready good but now even better since the pool is finished! See you in June with our kids!!" "
Carsten Hamer (carstenhamer@web.de) "I cannot remember how many times I walked the Khao San Road last year. In November we will be back. We prefer like every year the NEW SIAM GUESTHOUSE. Very friendly and clean there. "
Eva Lee (elee@3web.net) ""I stayed at the New Siam II the first week of December 2003 and enjoyed it very much. Loved how new and clean everything was: white tiled floors, screens on all windows and balconys to keep the bugs out, modern private bathroom, comfortable beds, TV with good movie channels, electronic lock safe. At only 650 baht a night, it was an excellent and inexpensive place to stay. New Siam II also has a pool to cool off in for a next to nothing cost and the restaurant has a good varied menu to choose from (Paad Thai is great here). I really enjoyed staying in such a central location that was great for shopping and easy to access the river taxi and buses. Eva Lee, Vancouver, B.C. Canada... "
Carsten and Claudia Hamer (carstenhamer@web.de) ""My remarks about the NEW SIAM GUESTHOUSE are already one year old but up-to-date. In November 2002 my wife and I travelled to Bangkok again. That time we had a very nice room at the NEW SIAM II. NEW SIAM I is very good but for our next stop in Bangkok this year again in November we are going to make a reservation from Germany for the NEW SIAM II. Jam, the the very friendly lady at the reception welcomes us allready like good friends... its like comming home!!" Thanks for following up on last year's comments ... most of all thanks for passing on your news! Wish more people did it. "
Koert (koertmichiels@yahoo.com) ""New Siam 2 Guesthouse, is one of the best in Bkk. Nice, clean, and good food. The price is 500 Baht, and thats just fine.""
Kelley (bluestar2coyote.chilcotin.bc.ca) ""Just got back from Thailand, my first ever overseas adventure. I am not a teen or even close any more and a female travelling alone. Stayed at the New Siam, felt very safe and the staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely want to do this again but will take my kids next time!" Excellent - glad you had a good time! "
